PhD student Olivia Parker received the Minority Hematology Graduate Award from the American Society of Hematology.
Engineering student, and Potawatomi Nation citizen, Katie Lynch has been an indigenous advocate at Rutgers and hopes to do the same for the biomedical field after graduation.
PhD student Eugene Cheong has been awarded a $60,000 two-year fellowship from the New Jersey Commission on Spinal Cord Research. His research will focus on the delivery of stabilized enzyme for the treatment of spinal cord injuries.
BME graduate student Denise Robles was awarded a two-year pre-doctoral fellowship from the NJ Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism (NJGCA) for her proposal entitled "Modeling Long-Range Connectivity Deficits in Autism Spectrum Disorders using Cerebral Organoids." Denise is co-advised by graduate program faculty Dr. Jeffrey Zahn and Dr. Zhiping Pang.
